Jaipur: Rajasthan Guard Service Officer Commander Swati Sharma has been selected for the Chevening Fellowship to pursue his Masters in Risk, Disaster and Resilience at one of the world’s largest universities – University College London, London .

The Chevening Fellowship is the UK government’s international awards program aimed at developing world leaders. This highly competitive scholarship is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and its recipients are personally selected by British Embassies and High Commissions across the world.

Commenting on this achievement, Swati said, “In the current scenario of increasing natural and man-made disasters, a disaster resilient society is the need of the hour. Society needs more professionals who have expertise in the optimal use of human resources, effective planning as well as knowledge of the latest technology.

“I am grateful to the state government and the Rajasthan Guard Department for their support and feel fortunate enough to win this lifetime opportunity and be proud to represent India and Rajasthan on this international platform. fame. “

National level pistol shooter Swati Sharma is a proud veteran of the Indian Army. She joined the RHS Cadre in 2012, as the first female officer.

As a deserving officer, Commander Swati Sharma also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Director General of the Chief Minister in 2019 and recently received the MD disc of the Interior Ministry of New Delhi. She qualified for the Civil Defense and Disaster Management course at the National Civil Defense College, Nagpur and graduated from the Army College of Materials Management and Symbiosis.
