Freeform has unveiled an all-new cast for the upcoming second season of its new mystery anthology series, harsh summer, according to Variety. The second season, which was produced by Jessica Biel (The fisherman) and Michelle Purple (The book of love), will star Sadie Stanley (Kim possible), Griffon Gluck (big girl 2) and Eloise Payet.
is set in the Pacific Northwest and follows the love triangle that stems from longtime friends Megan, Isabella, and Luke in three different timelines surrounding the year 2000. Stanley will star as Megan, who has a new vision of life after meeting Isabella de Payet, who spends a year living with Megan’s family. Gluck will play the role of Megan’s best friend, Luke.
The next season will also feature KaDee Strickland (Private practice), Lisa Yamada (all american), Sean Blakemore (Grounds) and Paul Adelstein (Private practice). Meanwhile, Elle Triedman (Too young to marry) will serve as showrunner.
The first season of the anthology series, which premiered in 2021, starred Olivia Holt (Kick), Chiara Aurelia (Fear Street: 1978), Michel Landes (Hooten and the Lady), Froy Gutierrez (Initiation) and Allius Barnes (american skin). Told over three summers in the 1990s, the first season centered on the mysterious disappearance of one girl and another then taking control of her life.
