NEW YORK (AP) – Alec Baldwin said on Saturday that any suggestion he did not comply with the investigation into last fall’s deadly shooting on a set in New Mexico is a lie.
At stake is a search warrant for Baldwin’s cell phone, which authorities hope can provide useful information for the investigation. Baldwin was holding a gun during a rehearsal for his film “Rust” on October 21 when he fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring the director of the film.
The authorities still do not have the actor’s phone.
Baldwin said in an Instagram post on Saturday that New Mexico has to go through law enforcement in New York City and that the process of specifying exactly what is needed takes time.
âThey can’t just go through your phone and take your pictures, or your love letters to your wife, or whatever,â he said.
Baldwin said he was unaware the gun he was holding contained a live bullet when it exploded. Investigators are trying to find where the live tour came from and, in the search warrant for Baldwin’s phone, said they were looking for text messages, pictures, videos, calls or any other information related to the film. .
“Any suggestion that I am not complying with requests or orders or search requests or warrants regarding my phone is bullshitââ is a lie,” he said.
